PropShort is a real-estate news and community app focused on Ahmedabad, Gujarat, and India.
This policy describes what data we collect and how it is used.
Data we collect
Account data — display name, email address, optional photo, home city, role,
and the sign-in identity provided by Google, Apple, or email authentication.
Preferences — interests, followed cities/builders/localities, notification settings.
Content you create - comments ("takes"), reviews, reactions, reports, and tips.
Activity data — reading streaks and referral codes.
Device data — a push-notification token (Firebase Cloud
Messaging) and anonymous crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics). PropShort collects no
usage or behavioural analytics.
Anonymous tips are stored without any account identifier by design.
How data is stored and shared
Application data is stored in a PropShort-operated PostgreSQL database on servers it
controls. Firebase is used for account authentication and push delivery only. We do not
sell personal data.
News articles are fetched from public news sources and third-party news APIs, including
NewsData.io, NewsCatcher and the GDELT Project; no personal data is sent to them.
Some article text and user-submitted content is processed by an AI model (routed via
OpenRouter) for summaries, explanations, and content moderation. No account identity
accompanies that text.
Your rights
Deletion — use Profile → Delete Account to permanently erase your
account, or see the account-deletion page.
Data is retained while your account exists. On deletion, your profile, content, messages,
and device tokens are permanently removed. Moderation reports you filed about other users'
content and fully anonymous aggregates (community sentiment tallies, rating averages) are
retained, as they contain no personal data or serve legitimate safety record-keeping.
Children
PropShort is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
